Fifth and Sixth Grade

Welcome to our class homepage!
It is already 2012!

In January and February we will be working on research report writing, character development , plant and animal cells and  finishing our first unit on decimals, percents and fractions. Please read our newsletter link to see what is happening in our classroom. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me or email me at srussell@addisoncentralsu.org

Your child should have homework each night.
This will always include reading 20+ minutes and could include journaling about their reading.
They also may have some math and vocabulary work. Homework should not take more than one hour.

If it does, please draw a line and let me know that you student completed one hour of work.

Homework in sixth grade is meant to practice skills independently and to learn good study habits that will prepare your child for the demands of middle school.

REMINDER: We still have a membership to www.ixl.com for math practice for everyone in fifth and sixth grade!

Your student knows their log in information.

They can use this at home and at school to practice skills in math.

Thanks for all your support and feel free to stop by!
